Server monitoring with dedicated managed servers

FTP - (File Transfer Protocol)
This is one of the most common methods for sending files between two computers, and is used to transfer data over the internet or through a network, from one computer to another. Files are stored by FTP servers that can be accessed from other computers, and security services are provided so that only authorized access is allowed.

HTTP - (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol)
Most documents traveling over the internet are governed by this set of rules, and HTTP appears at the beginning of every Internet address. To send text files over the internet, an HTTP client program is required at one end and an HTTP server program at the other end.

PING - (Packet Internet Groper)
This is an Internet utility which is used to determine whether a particular IP address or host name is online. It can also see if the host at that address is responding normally. A PING sends out a package and then waits for a response to test and debug a network.

POP3 - (Post Office Protocol)
POP3 is the latest version of the Post Office Protocol, and this is how email servers and email clients communicate and transfer messages. Most ISP's use POP mail because when the email client connects; it sends all the mail to the user's computer and erases it from the computer.

SMTP - (Simple Mail Transport Protocol)
This is the main protocol used to send electric mail over the Internet. SMTP consists of a set of rules for how the interaction should be between a program sending mail and a program receiving mail. For the majority of the time, SMTP is used for client to server and server to server communication.
