Server security audits with dedicated managed servers

UKFast offers a security audit service in order to minimise the risk of downtime, and to maintain the integrity of your dedicated managed server. This also decreases the issues associated with unauthorised access or use of your service.

In addition to providing a complete security audit including port scan, internal scan and process checking; your audit also checks for software updates and patches as well as review firewall policies.

There are two levels of security audit are currently available:

1. Full Server Security Audit

• Port scan: to probe any open ports checking services running. Recommendations for action will be made based upon services found.
• Internal scan: to remove or quarantine any viruses, rootkits and spyware.
• Process checking: to check for unwanted processes running. Those identified are isolated/disabled or, if necessary, the server can be completely rebuilt.
• Patch updates: to check and install where necessary software updates and patches (not drivers).
• Firewall review: to review firewall policies in the context of the servers use.

On completion of this audit you are provided with two:

1. Full audit summary including a list of recommendations.
2. Detailed report of port scan results.

2. Lite Server Security Audit

Once a Full Security Audit has been completed and your dedicated managed server has been given a clean bill of health, further security audits can be completed in the future at a reduced cost. These subsequent audits will help to ensure the server remains healthy, secure and serving you and your customers well.

The Lite Security Audit covers the following:

• Port scan (as per full security audit)
• Internal scan (as per full security audit)
